If you are looking for a children's book on bullying then get your hands on this book. This is a beautiful story about an alien visiting and joining a school on Earth. Buddy Mooney has blue skin and looks funny but he has high self-esteem. He met a group of friends at Jefferson School and all these kids have a condition that makes them unique.
Ned, David, Cody, Candence, Billy believe that they don't have any talent. They don't participate in a talent show because of the fear of being laughed at. However, Buddy Mooney told them to accept themselves for their differences. For Buddy Mooney, different is special and he loves different.
Will Buddy and his new friends be able to teach a lesson to the school bullies? These illustrations made this book more lively. It is the first book by the author that I have read. It would be amazing to explore more books by Alex.
With its heartwarming message, this book will teach others to be empathetic, celebrate their differences and keep a high self-esteem.
